Built for the US coin market
Robocoin is designed and optimized for the US market, supporting pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. The AI has been trained specifically on US circulation coins and their valuable varieties.
AI-based coin identification
It takes about one second for the Robocoin AI to identify the coin and find its valuable features. Tens of neural networks process and identify the coins, so that you can focus only on those that are likely to have value.
Automatic sorting out valuables
Robocoin scanners make high-resolution pictures of your coins, use AI to identify those worth more than their nominal value, and sort these coins out. It works great as a coin hunting tool, and to document and analyze your collection.

Robocoin uses a patent-pending method to take high-resolution pictures of your coins that emphasize the coin features and allow high-quality automated recognition and valuation.

Robocoin comes with default sorting rules that work well for most users. Through the Robocoin portal, you can also define your own rules based on the features Robocoin recognizes — for example, sort out coins from a specific date, mint, or type.

Is Robocoin available?
Yes — early access round 3 is open now. You can join the program at shop.robocoin.ai. We are also running pilot projects (for industry and for individual collectors); please contact us if you are interested.
What coins does Robocoin support?
Robocoin is currently designed and optimized for US coins — pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters. The AI has been trained on US circulation coins and their valuable varieties. Support for other countries' coins may be added in the future.
What do I need to use Robocoin?
To use Robocoin you need:
- A Robocoin scanner
- An active scan subscription
- A Wi-Fi connection (recognition processing is done on our cloud servers)
- A computer, tablet or mobile device to access the Robocoin portal — where you can browse your coin scans and set up sorting rules
Can Robocoin integrate with my existing workflow?
Yes. Robocoin can be integrated with just about any coin processing workflow — we love to work with businesses of any size. Please contact us to schedule a call and discuss the details in person.
Is Robocoin accurate?
Robocoin can identify the coin type, year and mint symbols with 95–99% accuracy — the missing percentage comes mainly from very dirty circulation coins. We now work on making the recognition of various coin features reach comparable levels of accuracy.
Is Robocoin fast?
The total AI recognition (API call) takes about a second; the photos also take about a second. All the rest depends on the scanner mechanics. The current version of Robocoin scans around 1,000 coins per hour, which is more than enough for individual collectors. We are working on industry-grade parallel scanners, at least an order of magnitude faster.
Can I make my own scanner?
Originally we considered this path, but along the way it turned out that producing a working Robocoin is much more complicated than we initially assumed — a 3D printer simply isn't enough. The current scanner includes custom electronics, a custom-cut and folded metal chassis, and other purpose-built components. So no, building one at home is no longer practical — but you can get an assembled scanner through the early access program.
Will Robocoin help me sell my coins?
Robocoin provides you with images of the coin and their metadata, and will soon allow you to publish them on social media and on eBay. Please contact us if you need more options.
How much does it cost?

Does Robocoin need internet to work?
Yes — the recognition needs considerable computing power and cannot be done by the scanner alone. You need a reasonably fast internet connection to take advantage of the speed and power of Robocoin (any reasonable home internet link will do). We offer in-house appliances for large corporate customers only.
